Ahobilam

Ahobilam sits deep within the Nallamala forest range in Kurnool district, a major Vaishnavite pilgrimage site associated with the Narasimha avatar of Vishnu, split between Lower Ahobilam (more easily accessible) and Upper Ahobilam (reached via a demanding forest trek). The site's nine distinct Narasimha shrines, scattered through dramatic forest and hill terrain, reflect centuries of religious significance, and its genuine remoteness within tiger-reserve forest has kept it considerably less commercially developed than comparable South Indian pilgrimage destinations.
