Sangla Valley lies along the Baspa River in Kinnaur district, framed by terraced apple orchards, pine forests, and steep mountain walls. It's greener and gentler than much of the surrounding Kinnaur landscape, which has made it a popular midpoint stop for travelers heading toward Chitkul, though it remains far less crowded than Himachal's mainstream hill stations. The town of Sangla itself has a lively local market alongside quieter walking trails through the valley. Sangla suits travelers who want valley scenery, orchard walks, and light cultural sightseeing without a strenuous trek. The Kamru Fort and its adjoining temple, dedicated to the local deity Kamakhya, sit just above the town and offer valley views along with a glimpse of traditional Kinnauri architecture. Sangla also works well as a base for day trips to Chitkul and Rakcham, or as a stop on a longer Kinnaur-Spiti circuit. Given its remoteness, most visitors plan for at least one overnight stay to properly explore the valley at a relaxed pace.

Nearest Railway Station: Kalka Railway Station, approx. 288–307 km, connected onward via the Kalka–Shimla toy train and road. By Road: Via NH5 to Shimla, then Rampur–Karcham to Sangla; regular HRTC and private buses run from Shimla, Chandigarh, and Delhi.
