Nag Tibba, meaning "Serpent's Peak," is the highest point in the Lesser Himalayan belt of the Garhwal region, rising to around 3,022 meters not far from Mussoorie. Its combination of a short approach from Delhi, a moderate trekking grade, and a genuine summit payoff has made it one of the most popular weekend treks in North India, often serving as many first-timers' introduction to Himalayan trekking. The trail passes through oak and rhododendron forest and small Garhwali villages before opening onto a ridge with wide views. The peak suits weekend trekkers and beginners looking for a manageable but rewarding high-altitude route. Most trips start from Pantwari village, climbing to a base camp near the Nag Tibba temple before a final push to the summit the next morning. From the top, the view stretches across the Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath, and Gangotri ranges on a clear day. Because the entire round trip can be done in a long weekend from Delhi, Nag Tibba has become something of a proving ground for trekkers building toward longer, more demanding Himalayan routes.
